(No longer very) Current Events from an Indigenous Perspective
We attempted to use this as a "Current Events" page in order to disclose the indigenous perspective of all our relations, rather than to use the indigenous perspective to disclose current events. To this end we will for the most part fail. This page was started after the large sold out dis-information campaign of 2001, but it proved far too time consuming for a working man to maintain by himself. Let it be said, that human beings are too often subjugated by lies often repeated, even if the lies make no sense or are even counter to one's sense of justice, logic, and intelligence. Today's mainstream "media" is one such programming tool. Without safeguards (regulation) to prevent greedy powermongers from controlling the news, a democracy will turn upon its own people. Money and the lies that buys, does not equal truth. Delusion is not clarity. Without clarity human beings make errors. In that context, technologically powerful human beings make huge errors.

Iraq or Iran: America's Regime Change policy: An Interview by Amy Goodman of Democracy Now with Stephen Kinzer, Author "All the Shah's Men, An American Coup And The Roots of Middle East Terror "In 1953, the CIA and British intelligence orchestrated a coup d'etat that toppled the democratically elected government of Iran. The government of Mohammad Mossadegh. The aftershocks of the coup are still being felt. In 1951 Prime Minister Mossadegh roused Britain's ire when he nationalized the oil industry. Mossadegh argued that Iran should begin profiting from its vast oil reserves which had been exclusively controlled by the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company. It later became known as British Petroleum. (BP) After considering military action, Britain opted for a coup d'état. U.S. Plan For Flu Pandemic Insurrection Revealed: Washington Post Easter Sunday 2006 (A day which one hides the news) said in part;
To keep the 1.8 million federal workers healthy and productive through a pandemic, the Bush administration would tap into its secure stash of medications, cancel large gatherings, encourage schools to close and shift air traffic controllers to the busier hubs -- probably where flu had not yet struck. Retired federal employees would be summoned back to work, and National Guard troops could be dispatched to cities facing possible 'insurrection,' said Jeffrey W. Runge, chief medical officer at the Department of Homeland Security. The administration hopes to help contain the first cases overseas by rushing in medical teams and supplies. "If there is a small outbreak in a country, it may behoove us to introduce travel restrictions,' Runge said, 'to help stamp out that spark.'
However, even an effective containment effort would merely postpone the inevitable, said Ellen P. Embrey, deputy assistant secretary for force health preparedness and readiness at the Pentagon. 'Unfortunately, we believe the forest fire will burn before we are able to contain it overseas, and it will arrive on our shores in multiple locations,' she said. As Katrina illustrated, a central issue would be "who is ultimately in charge and how the agencies will be coordinated," said former assistant surgeon general Susan Blumenthal. The Department of Health and Human Services would take the lead on medical aspects, but Homeland Security would have overall authority, she noted. 'How are those authorities going to come together?' Essentially, the president would be in charge, the White House official replied. Bush is expected to adopt post-Katrina recommendations that a new interagency task force coordinate the federal response and a high-level Disaster Response Group resolve disputes among agencies or states. Neither entity has been created."
"Padilla was born in Brooklyn, was brought up in Chicago, became a gang member, and was convicted several times. In prison he converted to Islam. After travel abroad he was arrested at O'Hare Airport, Chicago, on May 8, 2002. He was flown to New York by Justice Department agents, who served him with a warrant as a material witness before a grand jury investigating the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. A federal judge set a hearing on the warrant and appointed a lawyer for him, Donna Newman. But two days before the hearing, Padilla was flown to a Navy brig in South Carolina and held as an "enemy combatant." There he remains. For the last sixteen months Ms. Newman has been trying to speak with Padilla, her client. A federal trial judge decided that she should be able to do so for the limited purpose of getting any facts casting doubt on his designation as an enemy combatant. But the Justice Department objected even to that, saying that any contact with a lawyer might hurt the effort to extract information from Padilla by destroying the desired "atmosphere of dependency and trust between the subject and interrogator." Admiral John Poindexter and his Domestic Spy Network (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or Darpa, a research arm of the Pentagon): WASHINGTON, New York Times, Aug 2003— The official who oversaw a plan for the Pentagon to run a terrorist futures-trading market is resigning under pressure, a senior Defense Department official said today. John M. Poindexter, a retired rear admiral who was President Ronald Reagan's national security adviser, is stepping down "within a few weeks," the defense official said, after the disclosure of a proposal that outraged lawmakers and embarrassed senior Pentagon officials. The plan was to create an online trading parlor that would have rewarded investors who forecast terrorist attacks, assassinations and coups. Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld did not personally fire Admiral Poindexter, but the defense official said that Mr. Rumsfeld agreed that the admiral had become too much of a political lightning rod and that it was time for him to go.
Mr. Poindexter was indicted on March 16, 1988 on seven federal felony charges stemming from the Iran-Contra scandal (drugs for arms). The counts included participating in a criminal conspiracy with Colonel Oliver North, Air Force Maj. Gen. Richard V. Secord (Ret.) and Albert Hakim; conspiring to obstruct official inquiries and proceedings; two counts of obstructing Congress; and two counts of false statements to Congress. He was prosecuted by Associate Counsel Dan K. Webb, Christian J. Mixter, Howard M. Pearl and Louise R. Radin, all working in tandem.
Poindexter was convicted of all five counts on April 7, 1990. Mr. Poindexter was convicted of criminal conspiracy with Colonel Oliver North, Air Force Maj. Gen. Richard V. Secord (Ret.) and Albert Hakim (obstruction of congressional inquiries and proceedings, false statements, falsification, destruction and removal of documents); two counts of obstruction of Congress and two counts of false statements.
Poindexter moved on to Syntek Technologies in 1996, a "small high technology firm with contracts in domestic and international defense and commercial business". Syntek has acted as a contractor for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Poindexter's new employer. As a vice president at Syntek, Poindexter worked on Genoa -- an "intelligence mining, information harvesting" software package designed to data mine large databases. Genoa's "goal is to produce better national decisions through structured, collective reasoning." It allows interactive online meetings and collaboration.
On Thursday, February 14, 2002, John Poindexter was appointed by President George W. Bush to lead the Information Assurance Office at the Department of Defense's Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Despite Mr. Poindexter's criminal record of lying to Congress
He oversaw development of a program at Darpa that proposed spying electronically on Americans to monitor potential terrorists. That program, originally called Total Information Awareness, was envisioned by Admiral Poindexter as a sweeping electronic surveillance plan that would forestall terrorism by tapping into computer databases to collect credit, financial, medical and travel records. But this year Congress barred the program from spying on Americans, and the Pentagon changed its name to Terrorism Information Awareness.The latest furor centered on an initiative under Admiral Poindexter's control called Policy Analysis Market. Under the plan, traders were to be able to begin registering on Friday to trade futures in Middle East developments as of Oct. 1 on a Web site program, which the Pentagon was operating with private partners.

PSYOPS: Psychological Operations
Psychological Operations (PSYOPS) warfare are planned operations to convey selected information and indicators to audiences to influence their emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and ultimately the behavior of organizations, groups, and individuals. Today since the war on terrorism is ongoing world wide, PSYOPS has become activated domestically as well. Given the dramatic financial support in Congress and the White House, it is generally agreed that both domestic and foreign psyops will become exponentially expanded in the years to come.
Did you ever think that perhaps the beliefs that you have become to know and trust, have been dictated to you through your own government or another's covert operations? If not, perhaps it may be best to think this out very carefully. The relationship between PSYOPS, social engineering, political marketing, corporate economic interests, the military, and so called independent non-profit "Think Tanks" and "Policy Institutes" have become united on many fronts and they are growing. There's big bucks out there now, for the "right stuff".

Internet chat rooms may also have potential PSYOP uses, in that guided discussions could perhaps be used to influence how citizens think about certain topics. This example is already in practical use with the candidates in the U.S. presidential elections. China has begun to set up monitored chat rooms so its citizens can discuss a wide range of matters. In the Chinese approach, offending messages are deleted before, or just after, they have been sent to everyone. Such chat rooms might be a way to allow citizens of a country to air their grievances. While the originating point of a chat message is not hard to discover, there are ways around such monitoring. In China, for instance, a great many chat messages come from Internet cafes, and so cannot be traced back to specific people."

Also of great importance – at least until the Iraqi insurgency rubbed American noses in the horrors of war – has been the development of an aesthetic that sees war as waged by the US as technological, clean and antiseptic; and thanks to its supremacy in weaponry, painlessly victorious. Victory over the Iraqi army in 2003 led to a new flowering of megalomania in militarist quarters."

Review of "American Dynasty by Kevin Phillips: There is nothing new about Texans rising to the top in American politics. Dwight Eisenhower hailed from Denison and Lyndon Johnson from Stonewall, and Phillips has no beef with either of them. Neither of these national leaders, however, was a religious fundamentalist like George W. Bush. It's the certitude of our current president's born-againism that disturbs Phillips the most. Somehow his descriptions of oil greed or CIA intrigue or Beltway manipulation are less alarmist than the long chapter devoted to Bush's evangelism.(Mother Jones)
